The rules
One Seeker. Everyone else hides. Here is exactly how a hunt plays out — no fine print.
Entry
- Each official round names one token on Robinhood Chain. To enter, hold that token on Fomo (any amount) and post a Trade Thesis about it while entries are open. Then enter here with your thesis link, your Fomo @handle and your Fomo wallet address — the EVM address under Fomo → Profile → Settings → Account.
- One entry per Fomo account and per wallet. Rounds have a minimum and maximum number of players (AI bot seats count toward the minimum); if the minimum isn't met at start time the round is delayed once or canceled — it is never played short.
- FomoSeek never charges an entry fee and never asks for your password, seed phrase or private keys. Practice Hunt needs none of this — anyone can play, any time.
Verification
- Verification is automatic. When you submit, we check that your link is a real Fomo Trade Thesis, that it's about the round's token and was posted inside the entry window, and that your Fomo wallet holds the token on-chain.
- When it's enabled, you can add a screenshot of your posted thesis and an automated check compares it with your link — it only speeds things up.
- Most entries are QUALIFIED in seconds and you see each check on your entry card. If a check fails, the entry tells you exactly why (for example: your wallet doesn't hold the token yet) and you can try again.
- Spot checks can still disqualify fake, borrowed or copied thesis links before the Seeker is drawn. If automatic checks can't finish, an operator confirms the entry instead.
Roles
When the round begins, one participant becomes the Seeker. Everyone else is a Hider. The Seeker is chosen by a seed that was committed before entries opened — nobody, including us, can pick or influence it. See Fair Play.
AI bots
- Some official rounds add a few AI bots to fill seats, so a hunt can start with just one or two players. The round page shows them, e.g. “2 players + 3 AI bots”.
- Bots are fixed before the seed is revealed and join the same fair Seeker draw — a bot can be the Seeker or a Hider. At least one real qualified player is always required.
- Bots can win a hunt, but bots never get paid. If a bot wins, no prize is paid and the prize stays in the round's escrow, to be returned to the funder.
Regulation
- Hiders get 35 seconds to hide. The Seeker can't see or move during that time.
- Then the hunt runs for 5:00 of regulation time.
- The Seeker finds a Hider by getting close (about 2.4 m), having them in view and tagging. There's a short cooldown between tags.
- Regulation is the fixed clock. Overtime only starts if more than one Hider is still hiding when it runs out.
- Standing still in cover lowers how visible you are. It never makes you invisible.
If the Seeker succeeds
If the Seeker finds every Hider before regulation ends, the Seeker wins the round.
If time expires
If regulation ends with exactly one Hider left, that Hider wins. If more than one Hider is left, the round goes to Overtime.
Overtime
- Outer districts close one at a time, in an order fixed by the round's seed. Each closure is announced 20 seconds ahead.
- Staying inside a closed district exposes you. After 12 seconds inside one you're eliminated (lockdown).
- About every 45 seconds, a Search Pulse shows the Seeker which districts have movement.
- Camping in one spot for too long triggers a move check.
- Finally, Market Square shrinks to nothing. The last Hider standing wins. If the Seeker finds everyone first, the Seeker wins.
Disconnects
- If you drop, your spot is held for 40 seconds. Reconnect in time and you continue where you were.
- If you don't come back in time, you're eliminated (forfeit).
- If the Seeker disconnects and doesn't return, the round is voided: no winner, no payout. Mass disconnects or a server failure also void the round. We never invent a winner.
The prize
- Prizes are pre-funded promotional rewards in USDG (Global Dollar) on Robinhood Chain. The full amount is locked in an on-chain escrow for the round before we advertise it, and the funding transaction is verified on-chain. Until then the round says “Prize awaiting funding verification”.
- The whole prize goes to exactly one winner. When the result is signed by the match server, the escrow pays USDG on Robinhood Chain straight to the winner's Fomo wallet address locked at entry. Fomo credits it and shows it as cash in the app. The escrow can pay at most once.
- If an AI bot wins, nobody is paid and the prize stays in the escrow.
- Every round page links the funding transaction, the escrow contract and, once it confirms, the payout transaction. A round shows PAID only after the payout has the required confirmations.
- A canceled or voided round pays no one; the escrow returns funds to the funder.
- Payouts can be held for a fair-play review if our anti-cheat checks flag the result.
- Some rounds are community rounds with no prize at all.
Your thesis
We never judge the content of your thesis. Bullish, bearish, short, long, funny — it doesn't matter and it doesn't affect anything. We only check that a thesis about the round's token exists, comes from your account and was posted in the entry window.
Rules version
These are rules fomoseek-rules-v1. Every round records the rules version it was played under; changes ship as a new version and never apply to rounds already announced. Practice uses a shorter clock (3:30 regulation, 30 seconds to hide) and fills empty slots with bots.

FAQ
What is a Trade Thesis?
A short post (up to 700 characters) you write about a token inside the Fomo app, from that token's page. Fomo only lets you post one on a token you hold. Bullish, bearish, funny — any honest take counts. We never judge what you write; we only check that it exists, is yours, is about the round's token and was posted while entries were open.
Do I pay to enter?
No. FomoSeek never charges an entry fee, and every prize is pre-funded into an on-chain escrow before it's advertised. To enter you just need to hold the round's token on Fomo (any amount) and post a thesis about it. Practice Hunt needs nothing at all.
Where is my prize sent?
To the EVM address of your Fomo wallet that you entered with — in Fomo it's under Profile → Settings → Account. Prizes are USDG (Global Dollar) on Robinhood Chain, paid by the round's escrow contract straight to that address; Fomo credits it and shows it as cash in the app. The round page shows the payout transaction once it confirms.
How is the Seeker chosen?
By a commit–reveal seed. We publish a SHA-256 commitment to a secret seed before entries open, freeze the qualified players (plus any AI bot seats) when entries close, then reveal the seed as the round starts. The Seeker is uint256(roundSeed) mod n — anyone can recompute it on the Fair Play page.
How does entry verification work?
It's automatic. You paste your thesis link, your Fomo @handle and your Fomo wallet address; we check the link is a real Fomo thesis and that your wallet holds the token on-chain (plus an optional screenshot check when it's enabled). Most entries are QUALIFIED in seconds. Spot checks before the Seeker is drawn can still disqualify fake or copied links.
Why are there AI bots in my hunt?
Some rounds add a few AI bots so a hunt can start with just one or two players. They take part in the same fair Seeker draw and play like anyone else — and they're marked AI everywhere. Bots can win, but they never get paid: if a bot wins, no prize is paid and it stays in the escrow.
What happens if I disconnect?
Your spot is held for 40 seconds — reconnect and you continue where you were. After that you're eliminated. If the Seeker drops and doesn't return, the round is voided: no winner, no payout, and the escrow returns the prize to the funder.
Is it on mainnet?
Yes. Official prize rounds pay real USDG on Robinhood Chain mainnet from an on-chain escrow, and every round page links the funding transaction, the escrow contract and the payout. A prize only shows as FUNDED ✓ after the full amount is verified on-chain. Community rounds and Practice have no prize.
Can I play on my phone?
Entering works great on mobile. The game itself needs a desktop browser with mouse and keyboard for now — join the hunt from a computer.
Is FomoSeek made by Fomo?
No. FomoSeek is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by FOMO Labs unless explicitly stated. We use only public links to Fomo and never ask for your Fomo password or keys.
